Privacy Policy
EchoFootPrint
This Privacy Policy explains how EchoFootPrint handles data inside the browser extension. EchoFootPrint is designed to be privacy-first: data stays on your device, and nothing is transmitted to our servers.
What data we collect
- Detected tracking events: URL, domain, timestamp, pixel type, platform label.
- Optional geolocation cache: country/region lookups for detected domains (stored locally).
- Preferences: view selections, filters, and excluded domains.
We do not collect names, emails, passwords, or account identifiers.
How data is used
- Render visualizations (radial graph, bipartite graph, map, data table).
- Calculate statistics (platform counts, domain totals, time filters).
- Support CSV export when you choose to download your data.
Where data is stored
All data is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB.
There is no cloud sync, telemetry, analytics, or server-side storage.
Permissions
- Access to all sites you visit — required to detect tracking pixels as pages load.
- Storage (IndexedDB) — required to store detections, settings, and geo cache locally.
Your controls
- Pause or resume detection at any time.
- Exclude domains (e.g., localhost, internal networks) from detection.
- Clear all data via Settings → Clear All Data.
- Export your data as CSV from the Data Table.
Data sharing
EchoFootPrint does not share or sell any data. Nothing is transmitted to the developers or third parties.
